Hi Angela!
I'll say ditto to your "yippee"! I'm going to be at Old Key West in April and have stayed there several times! If you have either a one or two-bedroom villa, "double yippee" because the rooms are HUGE! The kitchen is stocked with everything and anything you'll need to prepare a meal (utensils, strainers, cork screw, paper towels, dish washer detergent, measuring spoons, etc.) You can purchase basic groceries in the store on property (including, eggs, milk, butter, frozen entrees, cereals, bread some fruit, cold cuts, peanut butter and jelly, wine, soda and juice.) Items at the store on-site are a bit more expensive than you would find in a supermarket (and they don't double coupons :-).
Another option (if you don't have a rental car, and can't drive to a local supermarket) is a grocery delivery service, which allows you to fax, email or call in an order and will deliver it to Bell Services at Old Key West. We have used Garden Grocer (
www.gardengrocer.com )several times, and were very satisfied.
Regarding your dining plan question, you will be order from the regular menu at whichever table service restaurants you chose. I've eaten everything from fish, to burgers to pasta on the plans. On the basic plan, you can chose an entree, dessert and non-alcoholic beverage, and on the deluxe plan, you can add an appetizer. If you like key lime pie (like me!) Olivia's at Old Key West has a great one!
Have a great vacation!
