15th trip to WDW, first using Magical Express. How does it work? Is there specific buses (ie: MK Area resorts, DTD area resorts...) or do you just hop on one and tell the driver where you're going? How long do you usually have to wait for your bus?

    Hi Mariah,

This is a very good question and one that several of us have different opinions on. I, personally, love Disney's Magical Express for its convenience and hassle-free approach.

Before you leave for your trip, you should receive a packet in the mail with your yellow luggage tags (2 per person in your party) and your Magical Express Transportation Vouchers (1 per person in your party). Be sure to put the yellow tags on your luggage prior to checking your bags at the airport. These tags will identify your luggage for the cast members that will take your luggage directly from the carousel to your Walt Disney World resort. So, if you have any items that you will need when you arrive in Orlando and when you first check-in, I urge you not to put these items in your checked bags. You will not even have to worry about these bags upon arrival. You will see them in your room approximately 3 hours after your arrival. You do have the option to collect your own bags from baggage claim, but if this is the case, do not put the yellow tags on your bags.

Once you arrive at Orlando International Airport, you can go directly to Disney's Magical Express Welcome Center and bypass baggage claim (unless you prefer to collect your own bags or if you arrive after 10 pm). The Welcome Center is located on the "B" side of the airport on Level 1. The airport is very well marked. Once you get there, there will be cast members directing you to the line for your resort. They will scan your transportation vouchers, so have those handy. Buses leave for each set of resorts about every 10-15 minutes. Depending on your resort, you may have to stop at one or two others. The bus ride itself will take about 30 minutes.

I hope you enjoy the convenience of this service and it is a magical beginning to your vacation!
