This is our 1st trip to WDW with our daughter who will turn 5 while we are there. Any suggestions on places to stay and birthday ideas? thanks!

Wow, Sarah! Your first trip to Walt Disney World AND celebrating your little princess' 5th birthday! There is so much to celebrate!

First, of course, you should take a look at your options for Accommodations and deciding which category of resort is best for your family. There are wonderful features at every resort, so deciding which will help make this the most magical for your daughter is a great place to start. Check out Royal Guest Rooms at Disney's Port Orleans Resort-Riverside or a Little Mermaid room at Disney's Art of Animation Resort. Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge will thrill animal lovers, while Disney's Contemporary Resort allow great access to Magic Kingdom Park. There's something to love about each of the resorts at WDW!

Regarding your princess' special day, be sure to request a "Happy Birthday" button when you're in the park. A Cast Member will write your daughter's name on it and she'll be thrilled as CMs and strangers alike wish her the best of birthdays throughout her entire visit! Consider one of the many Special Occasion options, which can include plush animals, balloons, autograph books and so much more. Be sure to book a meal at Chef Mickey's, at Disney's Contemporary Resort, where the birthday girl will be the center of attention as they bring out a special cupcake and celebrate all of the Birthday Guests. She'll remember this birthday, that's for sure!

Finally, you can also have a specialty cake delivered to just about any Table Service restaurant, as long as you order it at least 48 hours in advance. Call (407) 827-2253 for more information.

Be sure to send more questions as you narrow down your options for this most exciting trip! I'd love to help!
