1st trip to WDW arriving jan 16th around 3pm staying 5 days w/ base ticket and then 3 days on cruise. my ? is what park should we visit on our 1st day which will be our shortest day.... THanks, Krisha

    Krisha:

Although Disney Dad Doug feels very differently than I do and likes to build up to the Magic Kingdom, our family always likes to begin our trips at the Magic Kingdom.  Afterall, to my kids, the Magic Kingdom IS Disney World.

There's nothing like seeing Main Street lit up along with the castle...even the smells from the bakery as we walk up Main Street seem to welcome our family that first night.  We also know that we will be back to the Magic Kingdom before we end our trip, and so just visiting for a few hours on that first night is not disappointing.  All the parks are vastly different when seen during the day versus night so another visit during the week is like a fresh day!

    Wishing y'all a magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
