trip 6/2013. Usually stay at value resort. We are driving this year so we would like spend our extra money and stay at a moderate resort. Wondering what is the best moderate resort to stay at? best food, best transportation, best pool and slides?

Hi Kristin! Each of the Disney moderate resorts have a faithful following saying each one is best. But I do prefer one over the others and that is Port Orleans. There are two parts and I like both and it really depends on the themeing that might interest you. Riverside is a bit larger but has just refurbished the rooms so they are like new. Queen beds are in all rooms now and if you want a princess experience they have royal rooms available. The French Quarter is smaller and has a more intimate feeling. Relaxed southern decor makes this probably the most popular.

I like the location of this resort. It is close to Epcot and Hollywood Studios so your bus time is a minimum. It is also close to Downtown Disney and you can easily reach this destination by the boats. It makes it fun to do something besides a bus all of the time. Being so close to Downtown Disney opens up so many more dining opportunities so food is never an issue and never far away.

All of the moderate pools will have a slide but just a different themes. You won't be disappointed with either one. You can also enjoy carriage rides at this resort which sets it apart from others. Be sure and stop by the Riverside lounge one evening to hear Yeehaw Bob!

My vote for moderate is Port Orleans French Quarter with Riverside a close second!
