Howdy, Brenda, and welcome to planDisney!
Calling all space cadets and cowboys!
Toy Story Land is my sons' favorite land in ALL of Walt Disney World, so I totally understand how important it is for your little Mouseketeer to meet these iconic characters. Let's get into how your son can have the best vacation ever!
You can indeed meet Buzz Lightyear, Woody, and Jessie in Andy's Backyard. They usually begin making appearances when
Disney's Hollywood Studios opens and end in the late afternoon. Of course, keep an eye on the My Disney Experience App throughout the months leading up to your vacation to stay up-to-date on if this character line-up or their locations switch up. So, where exactly can you see these character meet-and-greet locations and times in the My Disney Experience App? You'll want to follow these steps:
-Log in to the
My Disney Experience App.
-Select the map pinpoint icon at the bottom of the page.
-To more easily focus on a certain theme park, click "Filters" in the upper left corner. Select Disney's Hollywood Studios and "Apply."
-Select the drop down arrow at the top of the map page. Select "Characters."
-Zoom over to Toy Story Land on the map and you'll see Mickey Mouse heads that indicate character meet-and-greet spots.
-Select one of the meet-and-greets to get more information about each character's appearance times.
For example, today, Woody is meeting near the entrance of the
Toy Story Mania attraction. He has several times to meet his human friends until 4 p.m. today. This schedule will vary, so it's important that you check in the app or ask a nearby Cast Member. Keep in mind that while you wait in the queue, the characters will take short breaks. Have no fear! They will return, so you don't have to get out of the queue when they leave. Have your camera ready (especially video) because the Toy Story Land character interactions are some of the best I've experienced. They are just the sweetest.
AN EXTRA GEM: You can search for the
Green Army Drum Corps times in the My Disney Experience App as well. Click the drop down box again in the app's map section. Select "Entertainment." Today's times, for example, also end around 4 p.m.
I could talk about Toy Story Land all day, so if you need any tips or tricks,
give me a holler here at planDisney. Brenda, I think that your son is going to have a rootin'-tootin' time at Toy Story Land this summer!
Magic always,
LeAndra
