I have a trip 7/28-8/2 staying at the contemporary and with the new system I am able to start booking multi passes 7 days before which is 7/21. However, I know the new system does not go into effect until the 24th so will I not be able to book until 7/24?

Hey Howdy Hey Camille and welcome to planDisney!

I bet you all are getting so excited for your upcoming trip to the Vacation Kingdom of the world. It sounds like you will be visiting during a transition period with the Lightning Lane system. I will be happy to try to clear things up for you so you can better plan your vacation.

You are correct Camille that the new process for Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Lightning Lane Single Pass will be changing on July 24th. It is my understanding from conversations with Cast Members that the system will not formally go into place until that date therefore all availability will start on that date. If your vacation is around that time, during or after, you will have the ability only on July 24th for the purchase and selection.

One thing I did want to make sure you were also aware of is Virtual Queues are staying the same. Certain attractions such as Tiana's Bayou Adventure will be available with Virtual Queue and do not have traditional stand-by lines. Virtual Queues will be available starting at 7:00 AM and then again at 1:00 PM. The catch with the afternoon queue is that you need to be in the park of the attraction you are requesting to be in the queue for.

I hope this information helps to clarify the rules of the new system. If you do have any further questions, please let us know, we are always happy to help!

    Have a Magical day,
