We have a trip to the resort in October and it’s my kids first time. We are worried about the mask mandate for my son which is 2 1/2. I know it states for those 2 and up but he will not keep a mask on. Will we still be allowed entry if he can’t wear it?

    Hello Kristopher!

Welcome to planDisney! Thanks so much for bringing your question our way!

I’m delighted to hEAR that you’re planning a visit to “The Happiest Place on Earth!” during Halloween Time at the Disneyland Resort! You’ll enjoy festive decorations and characters in costume during your visit!

All Guests age 2 and above are required to wear a facial covering indoors unless actively eating or drinking. This requirement includes when traveling on the bus transportation to and from the Toy Story Parking Area. However, face coverings remain optional in outdoor common areas. So, if your little one is not a fan of wearing a mask, I suggest you stick to outdoor attractions and activities only. There will still be plenty to do! At Disneyland Park check out Casey Jr. Circus Train, Dumbo the Flying Elephant, Jungle Cruise and Mad Tea Party. At Disney California Adventure Park, head to Golden Zephyr, Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind, Jessie’s Critter Carousel and Redwood Creek Challenge Trail. For more attraction suggestions, go to the Disneyland Mobile App and filter for attractions based on age and height, then just make sure they’re outdoors and you’re ready to go! For outdoor dining, I suggest Galatic Grill or Hungry Bear Restaurant at Disneyland Park. At, Disney California Adventure Park, I suggest dining at Lucky Fortune Cookery. That location serves a Kids’ Impossible Banh Mi sandwich that is so good I order it from time to time.

If you prefer to postpone your trip to a later date you may do so. Please log in to your Disneyland Account and visit My Disneyland then click Theme Park Reservation Details. From there you may cancel your reservation. You will then be able to book a new Theme Park Reservation for another date. The new reservation can be made immediately if you have a new date in mind, or at a later time if you're still unsure about your new plans. Reservations are limited and subject to availability. I recommend checking the Availability Calendar to make sure the theme park you would like to visit has availability on your desired day.

Please head back to planDisney if you have any more questions!
