We have a trip planned Sept 16 - 21 with our 3 yr old DD. We have always taken a backpack with multiple pockets on trips, but I have read that this type of bag is inconvenient for park entry. What type of bag do you recommend ?

    Hi there Sabrina!

I don't see a problem with you using a backpack with hundreds of pockets in it. The security personnel at the front entrances are trained to search all types of bags. I believe the reason certain people like to carry bags with fewer pockets is because it just takes less time for the search than say a bag with many pockets. I have carried both styles and it's not that much more time to search. Just be patient and friendly with the officer and you should be fine. My advice is to take whichever bag you feel most comfortable with. Here are my favorite tips that I wish all of the park guests would follow:

    1. Make sure to have the bag open prior to the search
    2. If you have a stroller, make sure to have all flaps open as well
    3. If there is only one bag or two or three, only one person needs to take the bags through, have all others pass through the standard line (this is the biggest cause for the bottle neck at the entrance)

I hope this information helps you with your planning and if you have more questions, please ask away, we are always here to help! Have a Magical Time at the Walt Disney World Resort! Thanks so much for asking the Moms Panel!
