Trip planned for October 2020. My son is autistic and we have always used the disability pass in the past. With fastpass lines being used for social distancing now, have you heard if any allowances will be made for those with disabilities to avoid waits?

Hi, Julie!  It's great to see you back here at the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

Like you, I also have a son who is on the autism spectrum.  One of the reasons why we return to Walt Disney World Resort yEAR after yEAR is that they always go above and beyond to make the magic accessible to everyone.  Over the past few months, my son has frequently been asking me when he can go back to visit Mickey.  Now that Walt Disney World Resort has announced their plans for reopening, I can tell my Mouseketeer that we will be returning to a world of magic very soon!

My family also uses Disability Access Service for my son when we visit the Walt Disney World theme parks.  Julie, I called and spoke to a Cast Member in Disability Services.  She assured me that you will still be able to utilize Disability Access Service once the theme parks reopen.  This service will work in the same manner as it previously did.  If FastPass+ queues are being used for social distancing, the Cast Member who issues you your Disability Access Service ride return time will let you know where to go when you return to experience that attraction.

When I spoke to the Disability Services Cast Member, she did stress to me that all Guests ages 2 and up, including those Guests using Disability Access Service, will be required to wear a face mask.  I know we have been practicing wearing face masks with my son so that he will be used to this new normal before our next vacation.  We ordered him some fun Star Wars face masks from shopDisney, and he is excited to wear them.

Julie, as you get ready for your upcoming trip, I recommend that you keep an eye on the Disney Parks Blog and the operational updates page on the Walt Disney World website to hEAR all of the latest news and announcements regarding reopening procedures.  If you have any additional questions, please visit us again.  I hope you and your family have a magical vacation!

    See ya real soon!
