Out trip is planned for October 18th and we just realized that the park closes at 7pm for Mickey's Not so scary Halloween. Do we have to purchase additional tickets to attend this event? Is there no firework show or parade for the normal park hours?

    Hey, Katie!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. I am so excited for your upcoming trip in a couple of weeks. You are going to have a blast with the cooler weather and the fall decorations around Walt Disney World Resort. Magic Kingdom Park has the best assortment of jack o' lanterns and scarecrows. There are even Mickey Mouse shaped gourds!

On Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party (extra cost to attend) nights, Magic Kingdom Park will close at 7:00 p.m. for all Guest not attending the party. Party Guests are given special wristbands to alert Cast Members who is staying to enjoy the spooktacular festivities. All other Guests are kindly be asked to leave the park or, if available, purchase a party ticket to stay. There are no evening activities except those that occur during the party. If you want to see Wishes nighttime spectacular and Celebrate the Magic castle show you would need to return on a different day.

Disney Dad Tip: If you can't be there in person to see Happy HalloWishes Fireworks then I suggest heading over to any of the Resort hotels on the Walt Disney World Monorail line. We have seen fireworks from the beach at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort, the patio behind the main building at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa and the observation deck the California Grill atop Disney's Contemporary Resort. You will need to dine or have drinks at the California Grill to get access. The best part of all these locations is that music is piped into the areas to accompany the fireworks.

I hope this helps you plan a spectacular Disney vacation. Please let us know if you have more questions.

Katie, enjoy making many Magical Memories!
