I have a trip planned next week .. There are 5 of us in the party.. we have our tickets I have a whole bunch of magic bands from prior visits.. can I link the newest ones to to our new tickets (I would need to reassign two of them to a new person) Thanks

Greetings Michael, and welcome to planDisney!

It is so exciting to hear that you will be joining the 50th Anniversary Celebration next week! You are going to have an amazing time enjoying all the festivities associated with the World’s Most Magical Celebration. Be sure to look for Disney’s Fab 50 Character Collection, these are 50 golden statues on display across all 4 theme parks. They are the perfect backdrop for selfies.

MagicBands are my favorite souvenir. I have over 40 of them and still collecting. No matter how many MagicBands I have, they are all connected to the information in My Disney Experience account. If you have already linked your theme park tickets for next week to your respective My Disney Experience accounts, they have been automagically linked to your old MagicBands. Unfortunately, once a MagicBand has been activated to a particular account, it cannot be transferred to another person or My Disney Experience account even if it has been deactivated.

Typically, I would suggest that the remaining members of your party who need a MagicBand, order one from shopDisney, but they would not reach you in time. Your friends do have the option of purchasing a new MagicBand from a Disney retail shop in Disney Springs or a retail location in a theme park. These MagicBands would need to be linked to their My Disney Experience accounts to become activated. Your friends can also use Disney’s MagicMobile service. This can be set up in the mobile app for users with an iOs or Android device with a mobile wallet. Open the My Disney Experience mobile app and tap the more icon in the lower right corner. Select the Disney MagicMobile button and follow the prompts to create a pass and save it to your mobile wallet. You can use your smartphone just like a MagicBand.

Just a quick reminder that all Guests to Disney Theme Parks must have a valid admission ticket and a Disney Park Pass Reservation for the first park you plan to visit each day. Please double-check to make sure that everyone in your party has a park pass reservation in My Disney Experience. When I look at the Theme Park Reservation Availability Calendar for next week, some theme parks are already at capacity and do not have any more reservations available. If anyone is missing a reservation, you need to make one for them immediately.

I hope this helps with your planning. You are going to have so much fun!

    Have a magical time,
    Andrea
