Hi Kristina,
Thanks for stopping by planDisney with your question. May will be here before you know it, and so will your magical vacation!
Securing the "perfect" dining reservations can be a challenge, especially right now. Most guests are finally ready, willing, and able to book those Walt Disney World vacations that they may have had to cancel during the past two years, and the parks have been busy. Even when you are ready to book your reservations 60 days in advance at 6:00 AM, you may not be able to get everything you want, especially for popular restaurants like
Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater. I know it can be frustrating, but all hope is not lost.
A lot of times guests end up canceling their reservations as their plans change. If you can check back periodically before your trip, you may still be able to get that coveted reservation. I find this to be especially true the day before you want to dine, as guests will cancel 24 hours before their reservation to avoid any fees. Also, check the Dining Tip Board on your
My Disney Experience app to see if times become available. As a last resort, on the day you are visiting
Disney's Hollywood Studios stop by the check-in podium and speak to a cast member to see if there are any walk up times available. In the meantime, check out the menus at some of the quick service locations in the park so you have a back up plan that you'll enjoy, in case you aren't able to get your reservation. Our family loves
Ronto Roasters in
Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge, and our picky eaters have also enjoyed
ABC Commissary when we haven't been able to get reservations to our favorite table service restaurants.
If you're more of a person who doesn't want to play the wait and see game, I get that too. In that case, you might want to consider another table service option. Did you know that the restaurants on the BoardWalk are just a short boat ride away, and are actually even within walking distance?
Beaches & Cream Soda Shop is a fun option, and if you're feeling really adventurous you can try to tackle the Kitchen Sink for dessert.
Hope this helps. I've got my fingers crossed that a little extra pixie dust comes your way!
Diane
