I have a trip planned for May 2026. This is my gift to myself for my 60th birthday though my birthday isn't until later in the year. I was unsure about where to not that on my reservation and request a preference for the 60/80 hotels in Pop Century.

    Hi,

Welcome to planDisney Michelle! I love a good birthday celebration at “The most magical place on earth.” This is going to be one of the best birthdays ever I can feel it. Let’s get this celebration started.

Staying at Walt Disney World resort during such a fantastic milestone is exciting. This request sounds like it’s intentional for a particular era. I think it’s a fantastic idea to celebrate and theme your journey to this point in life. Making a request for a room type is easy when you are checking in online. 60 days prior to your stay you can start that process, and there is a section where you will be able to fill in any special requests. Please keep in mind Cast Members are awesome, and will do everything they can to fulfill a request. But please keep in mind they are not guaranteed. So keep your fingers crossed for a magical reservation in the section where you would love to stay. If you check-in online and your request is not fulfilled, I would suggest heading to the front desk before you get to your room. Just in case a last minute cancellation makes your stay in that section possible.

Visiting during the month of May means EPCOT will be hosting the International Flower and Garden Festival. This festival has Outdoor Kitchens serving up the freshest ingredients, and the visuals during this festival are amazing. Topiaries inspired by your favorite Disney characters are on display all over the park. When you first arrive, grab yourself a passport and you’ll be able to see all the different booths, and what they are offering in terms of food as well as beverages. Some of these booths, bring back favorites from each year and one of my favorites from the past two years is on my wish list for next year. The mascarpone freeze dried cheesecake is probably one of the best festival desserts I have ever tried. If I visit on two different days during this festival, I will have this cheesecake two different days. It’s that good the honey drizzled on top with blueberries are perfect touch. Keep an eye on the Disney Parks Blog for all the news regarding this festival once we get closer to your visit.

I hope this information is helpful for checking in and making that request during your birthday celebration. Don’t forget to ask the front desk for a celebration button. These buttons sometimes activate magic, so wear it all over the resort.

    See ya real soon,
