I have a trip planned in July. I purchased 5 park tickets and 2 night on property. Am I able to transfer one ticket to the room or someone else. My husband prefers not to go to the park

Hi James! Welcome to planDisney. We’re so glad you’re here.

Three ChEARS to you, James, for booking your Walt Disney World Resort vacation! If you ask me, there has never been a better time to visit Walt Disney World Resort! From Walt Disney World's 50th Anniversary Celebration to new attractions like Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, opening May 27th, there is something exciting to explore at every turn. So, I'm so happy to see that your Walt Disney World Resort vacation is coming up this summer! Although I must admit, I’m a little jealous! So, I guess I’ll just have to book my own summer visit!

Everyone has their own vacation style, so a Walt Disney World vacation is perfect for the whole family! Of course, for the thrill-seekers in your group, it’s all about the Theme Parks. But, if you’re looking for rest and relaxation, a day by your Disney Resort Collection hotel pool is a dream come true. No matter your preference, there is something for everyone to enjoy! So, I am happy to share that as long as your husband’s theme park ticket has not been used, you can absolutely assign it to someone else.

To do so, you will first have to make sure this person is linked in your Friends and Family list. Adding to your family and friends list in your My Disney Experience app is as easy as can be. Just follow these simple steps:

    • First, have them log into their My Disney Experience app and open the menu (the three stacked lines on the bottom right corner).
    • Then, scroll down and click on "My Profile" and select "Show My Linking Code."
    • Have them jot down the six-character manual code on this screen, and send it your way.
    • Once you have their manual linking code, open your My Disney Experience app and navigate to "My Profile."
    • Then, toggle over to "Family & Friends List" and scroll down to select "Add a Guest."
    • Next, click on "Scan their linking code," then "Manually Enter a Code," submit, and you are all set!

The manual linking codes are only valid for 30 minutes each, so keep that in mind as you follow the steps above.

Once you’re all linked up, you can now transfer the tickets by logging in to your My Disney Experience app. Then, open the menu by clicking on the three lines in the bottom right corner. From there, click “Tickets and Passes,” and select your Husband’s ticket and click on “Reassign Ticket.” You will then be able to choose the recipient from your Friends and Family list, follow the prompts to complete the transfer, and you are all set!

James, your Walt Disney World Resort vacation will be here before you know it! Please feel free to visit us again with any other vacation planning questions you may have!

    Until next time,
    Diana
