I have a trip planned for July 2019. If I book an 8am flight out of MCO, will I be able to use the airline check in at the Grand Floridian (where we will be staying!)? I have read that it opens at 5am but that would be when we have to get on ME.

    Hi Joy Marie,

I'm so excited to hear that you'll get to stay at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. I just returned from a stay there, and WOW, is it ever amazing! You're going to LOVE it!

The Resort Airline Check-In service is open daily from 5:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and requires that you check in for your flight at least three hours prior to your flight departure. Unfortunately, that would not allow you much wiggle room at all. Plus, Disney's Magical Express is currently picking up Guests for domestic flights around three hours ahead of time, but that time may vary. For my flight last week, my bus was scheduled three hours and fifteen minutes ahead of my flight departure. Plus, they ask that you be there waiting 15 minutes prior to your scheduled bus arrival, too. While there's always a chance that there will be a Cast Member there to assist you earlier than 5:00 a.m. or that your scheduled bus will arrive shortly after 5:00 a.m., I certainly wouldn't count on it. It would be a much safer bet to plan on storing any large bags underneath the bus and checking in for your flight when you arrive at the Orlando International Airport. If you need assistance with your bags, the wonderful Cast Members at Bell Services would be happy to help you. Of course, if your airline allows you to check-in online 24 hours ahead of time, the Cast Member at the Resort Airline Check-In desk would be happy to print your boarding pass for you the day before your flight.

Thanks for visiting us at the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Joy Marie, and please let us know if you have any other questions as you're planning your trip. I hope that you have a truly magical vacation!
