Hi! So we have a trip planned for the first of June and currently have the Disney dining plan selected. I noticed that there is only 1 snack credit vs 2 like the old plan. Can you still convert QS meals to snack credits like before?

Hey howdy hey, Amanda! Welcome to planDisney! I'm so glad you've stopped by our neck of the woods to ask this great question about the Disney Dining Plan. My family absolutely loves the Disney Dining Plan because it allows us to plan in advance and take advantage of savings. Most of all, it helps us stay in the moment when we're enjoying a relaxing meal, because we know we've already taken care of the bill!

You must be thrilled to be in the planning process for your upcoming vacation, and it sounds like you're also a fan of the dining plan. If you used dining plans in the past, you'll recall some flexibility in transferring meals and snacks. At this time, there is not an option to redeem three snacks for one Quick-Service Meal. Happily, there are so many wonderful Quick-Service Meal options that you should be able to find plenty of places to use your meals with no problem! My top Quick-Service Restaurants are:

    • The Polite Pig at Disney Springs - the brisket with macaroni and cheese and a Moscow Mule is an amazing and very filling meal!
    • Backlot Express at Disney's Hollywood Studios - the Cuban sandwich with plantain chips was unique and refreshing. Place a Mobile Food & Beverage Order while you're waiting for a nearby attraction to streamline this process.
    • Katsura Grill in Japan at EPCOT - grab some sushi and Plum Wine, and enjoy the most relaxing lunch next to the peaceful pond!
Amanda, did you know that keeping track of your Disney Dining Plan has never been easier? You'll go to the Resort Hotel section of your My Disney Experience Mobile App, and click on "Check Dining Plan." There, you'll see your remaining meals, snacks, and refillable resort mugs. You can also see a summary of your past charges, including which member of your party authorized the charge. For my family, we allow MagicBand charging privileges for me and my husband, but our children need an adult present to make a purchase.

Another amazing feature of dining plans is that when you place a Mobile Food & Beverage Order in the My Disney Experience App, you'll be prompted to complete your meal by adding a beverage, in case you forget to add one in your order, since it's included with your quick-service meal. When you're placing an order for a whole family, it can get a little crazy, so this feature has saved me multiple times!

Amanda, I hope this has helped you understand more of the inner-workings of the new and improved Disney Dining Plan. Please stop back by if you'd like any recommendations on how to plan for your upcoming visit - whether it's how to strategize for "rope drop," recommendations for fun experiences, or where to find a great character meal, I'm your girl!

    See you real soon!
