I have a trip planned for February and want to do the Wild Africa Trek. I would like to do the first time slot but was wondering if the food is the same for all time slots? Thank you.

Jambo Shelly, and welcome to planDisney! That’s a phrase you’ll be hearing a lot around Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park because it means “hello” in Swahili. What an incredible morning you have in store with your safari adventure!

On the Wild Africa Trek, you will have a private VIP tour guide who brings you up close with African wildlife. Not only will you head out in a safari vehicle across the savanna, but you’ll also get to cross the rope bridge for an amazing birds eye view of some of the animals. Some of the amazing perks of this tour are that you will receive complimentary photo service to capture your adventure, plus a chef will prepare gourmet snacks to keep you fueled. Most tours include a similar menu regardless of what time the adventure begins. While the menu is subject to change, these items often include shrimp, prosciutto, cheese, olives, fruit, hummus, pita, and a wrap. These are described as snacks, most Guests find the portions filling similar to a meal.

Bonus tip: While you’re at Animal Kingdom, don’t miss the Cookie Dough Brownie Ice Cream Sandwiches! They would make a perfect dessert after your adventure! They have become wildly popular lately, so I had to try one myself when I was there last week. I can tell you this is a must-try! You can pick one up at Terra Treats or the cart outside of Island Mercantile on Discovery Island.

Shelly, I hope your time on the savanna is filled with many magical moments! If you have any more questions, be sure to come back and see me. I’m always here to help and love adding extra pixie dust to your Disney vacation!

    Kwaherini (“go well” in Swahili!),
