Hi Emily, welcome to planDisney!
I'm glad to hear you're planning a visit with family and friends to Walt Disney World Resort during the 50th Anniversary Celebration. The planDisney panelists recently gathered our
top 22 for 2022, which I encourage you to check out before arrival.
I'm sorry you're having a hard time linking your friend's ticket in My Disney Experience. I know that's frustrating and adds unnecessary stress to your pre-trip to-do list. I successfully linked a
Disney Military Salute ticket to my account a few weeks ago and will share the steps I took in hopes of them working for you, as well.
A friend purchased my ticket and sent me the following after the transaction was complete: a sales receipt, an order confirmation printout, and an exchange voucher. My exchange voucher came in the form of a plastic card with a patriotic Mickey design on the front. Exchange vouchers can also come in the form of a thicker ticket made out of cardstock or a piece of paper with the Guest name and ticket number on it. The exchange voucher contains the information needed to link your friend's ticket in My Disney Experience.
To link my Disney Military Salute ticket in my
My Disney Experience mobile app, I logged into my account, pressed the three small lines at the bottom right of the home screen, and clicked "Tickets and Passes." I then clicked the plus sign at the top right of the screen and "Link Tickets and Passes." The ID code I entered was the 16-character ID code found on the back of my exchange voucher plus the four characters that I had to scratch off to reveal. Once I clicked "Submit" the ticket was validated and I was asked to match the ticket to a member of my
Family and Friends list. If you are attempting to link your friend's ticket using your account and he has his own My Disney Experience account, make sure you are connected as Family and Friends before linking. If he does not wish to have his own My Disney Experience account, click "Add a Guest" and his plans will be managed under your account. You can also link his ticket
online.
I'm sending lots of happy thoughts that your friend's ticket will successfully link to your account, Emily, enabling him to make park pass reservations, which are currently required for park entry. March dates are filling up fast so be sure to check the
theme park availability calendar before securing a
park pass reservation.
Please note that Disney Military Salute Tickets must be activated before park entry. The only exception to this is tickets purchased through the Shades of Green ticket office, which come pre-activated. He may even have paperwork saying "Your Tickets are Activated," but this just means he can proceed with linking his ticket and making park pass reservations. Ticket activation can take place at a Guest Relations window outside of the theme park entrances or the
Disney Ticket Center at Disney Springs. Valid Military ID must be shown.
Please
reach out if I can be of any further assistance.
