We have a trip planned for the end of February. We are staying off site so we will not receive MagicBands but it’s my understanding that we will receive a card, is that correct? Does the card have the same functions as a magic band?

    Hi Emily,

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and thank you for asking us a question!

You’re absolutely right: when you pick up your tickets at Guest Relations, you’ll get an Admission Card that will work the same way a MagicBand does. You can tap your card not only to gain admission to the Theme Parks, but also to redeem any of your FastPass+ selections or even have it scanned for any pictures that you take with a Disney PhotoPass photographer (especially handy if you’ve purchased Memory Maker).

That being said, if you do want to purchase a MagicBand, you can pick one up when you get your tickets or at several merchandise locations around Walt Disney World Resort.

Please don’t hesitate to come back and see us if you have any other questions about your upcoming vacation.

    Have a Magical Day,
