Hi, we have a trip planned for Dec. Is Epcot having entertainment like father Christmas, and Chinese lion dancers like they have had in the past?

Hey Howdy Hey Sharon and welcome to planDisney!

Celebrating the Holiday season at Walt Disney World is an experience you will cherish for years to come. There is so much going on throughout the parks and resorts to celebrate the most magical time of year in a way only Disney can. I bet you all are getting super excited about your upcoming trip as we continue to move closer to your dates of travel. Thank you so much for your question about the specific entertainment options available in EPCOT during your stay. Let's see what we can come up with!

During the holiday season, EPCOT will be hosting the EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays with special entertainment, food and drink offerings throughout the park. One of the more consistent experiences you can expect to have during this festival is the Candlelight Processional where the story of Christmas is told by special guest narrators and a 50-piece orchestra. Another special holiday activity you might want to keep an eye on is the Holiday Cookie Stroll. As you travel around World Showcase, stop at various places on your journey around the world for special holiday cookies with flavors specific to the season!

While we do have these and so many more options available to us, we still are awaiting word from Disney on the details. We do know that this festival will be kicking off on November 25 and carry on through the holiday season but are still awaiting word on the specific dates. Many of the details of the activities listed above are still being confirmed as well. You can check back online for more information and keep up with Disney Parks Blog for updates on entertainment announcements for the holiday season as we continue to move closer to the dates.

While EPCOT is such a great park to visit for so many great options to get in the holiday spirit, the whole resort has its special way to celebrate the season. If you can, taking a monorail ride around the Magic Kingdom resorts will be so inspirational. In the grand entrance ways, you will find specialty decorated Christmas trees for the season as well as special treats available for purchase to give you a little more warmth for the season. Make sure to keep Disney's Grand Floridian Resort and Spa for the last stop as you usually will find a lifesize operational gingerbread house where you can make refreshment purchases!

Over at Disney Springs, you may also find a Christmas tree trail. Walking through Disney Springs at night following along a trail of spectacularly decorated trees is so amazing. Of course, you might also find a few stops along the way to make this experience extra magical with special holiday food and drink offerings as well.

Make sure to keep up with Disney Parks Blog as all the details of these experiences unfold and are where you will hear about updates for these experiences. If you have any further questions, please feel free to stop back and let us know, we would be happy to help!

    Have a Magical Day,

    Nick
