Trip planned for August...are swim floats (on the ARMs) allowed to be brought to resorts/ cruise ships? I have 2 little swimmers who cannot swim with out them! TIA

Ahoy, Marie! Stand fast, secure the rigging! You’re in for a shipload of fun at Walt Disney World Resort as well as cruising the seven seas! Staying afloat is important, so I’m happy to help shed some light on the Resort pools for you!

It’s Disney policy that mermaid tails, swim fins, snorkels, and flippers are not permitted in the pools at Walt Disney World Resort. One of the reasons behind this policy is that items may pose a risk in case a lifeguard needs to use his services, and we always want them to be able to do their job! If your children wear water wings, each child must be supervised by an adult at all times in the water.

If you have a brand-name Puddle Jumper, they are actually U.S. Coast Guard approved devices, and I feel much better having my littlest baby wear one when we are near the water. Puddle Jumpers are lightweight, so I can pack them easily in our suitcases. Disney Cruise ships also have vests aboard that can be used by guests at any time, but I have received word that puddle jumpers are welcome aboard, as well.

You’ve really MERMAID my day by visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel, so I hope your return for more help in planning your magical vacation. ~ Lindsey P.
