i have a trip with 5 people in october but only 4 people are on the hotel reservation. the 5th person has their own tickets, is there any way to add the 5th person to the reservation without the amount going up?

    Hi there, Gicel,

Yay! It appears you have an exciting adventure planned with a good-sized crew. Thanks for stopping by planDisney again to help with your Disneyland Resort vacation planning.

There are a handful of different factors involved with hotel bookings at the Disneyland Resort. I’ll go over common situations with you here. First, we’ll cover Disneyland Resort Vacation Packages. Then, we’ll talk about hotel-only reservations. To discuss details of a specific reservation, you may reach out to the phone line for Hotel Reservations or Vacation Packages.

If you have booked a hotel-plus-tickets Vacation Package, all of the Guests on the reservation must have the same ticket package to be included with the reservation. If that applies to you and you would like to modify your booking to have hotel and tickets separate, you should be aware of the Vacation Packages terms and conditions. In particular, cancellations less than 30 days before arrival are subject to cancellation fees. Since there is still plenty of time before your October trip, this should only be an issue if there are any third-party add-ons that may include a cancellation fee.

If you have booked a hotel-only stay, adding a Guest may be possible if the room type you booked can accommodate the larger number of Guests. Whether or not the price will change depends on the age of the additional Guest. Only Guests 18 years old or older will affect the room rate when adding a fifth person.

My family did a very similar thing a few years ago. We had Magic Key passes for theme park admission and a hotel-only stay booked at Disney's Paradise Pier Hotel. One of our children wasn’t planning on traveling with us. But luckily, situations changed and they were able to come along. Since they were under 18 at the time, I was able to call the Hotel Reservations line and add their name to the reservation without any change to the room rate. That way, we could all enjoy the benefits of our Disneyland Resort Hotel, including Early Entry into the theme parks.

I hope you and your party have a most magical time at the Disneyland Resort, Gicel. Should you think of any other questions about your visit to The Happiest Place on Earth, I hope you won’t hesitate to visit planDisney again soon.
