Well, well, well... what do we have here? Melinda! Mr. Oogie Boogie himself sends you a welcome to planDisney!
You're joking, you're joking! I can't believe my eyes! You're visiting during an
Oogie Boogie Bash event and don't already have tickets? Let me be the first to welcome you to
Halloween Time at the Disneyland Resort and tell you why you should, no,
must join my favorite Villains for Halloween screams, tricks, treats, and a swinging good time!
I have to start by admitting that last year was my first time attending an Oogie Boogie Bash, but I was instantly hooked and snagged my tickets for this year the moment they became available! The best way for me to describe it is frightfully fun, magically magnificent, and equal parts Disney and Halloween all wrapped up in one spellbinding night. You have the opportunity to interact with rare characters, and when I say
interact, I mean it! The personal conversations, laughs, and unexpected adventures that happen along the
Treat Trails are my favorite character experiences I've ever had.
Then there's Villains Grove in the shadowy forest of the Redwood Creek Challenge Trail. This foggy, haunting, colorful walk-through is designed to surprise and delight around every corner. Which way? This way? That way? All ways! It's packed with eerie enchantment and just the right amount of Halloween magic to keep you under its spell.
There is another fang-tastic perk to your party ticket. You can enter Disney California Adventure Park three hours before the party begins, starting at 3:00 PM. That gives you time to explore the park, hop on some favorite attractions, and grab a bite to eat before the festivities creep in. Even better, many attractions remain open during the party, often with much shorter wait times.
New this year, and something I can't wait to see myself, is
Madam Leota's Swinging Wake - A Haunted Mansion Street Party! It sounds delightfully spooky and is sure to leave guests with hauntingly good memories. Madam Leota and her spirited friends will take over the streets and keep the party moving with music, dancing, and plenty of Halloween charm.
I checked the event schedule, and you have two opportunities during your visit to attend Oogie Boogie Bash! I know it wasn't part of your original plans, but this is one of the few times when kids and kids at heart can dress up in costume and join the fun. My costume is already hanging in the closet waiting for its big night, and I can tell you that from here on out, Oogie Boogie Bash has earned a permanent place on my Disneyland must-do list.
If you'd like to
add party tickets to your itinerary, I'd recommend scooping them up as quickly as possible! The closer Halloween gets, the faster those tickets tend to disappear like a ghost in the moonlight.
Melinda, I hope you get the chance to meet Mr. Oogie Boogie in person soon! It is, in my opinion, the best way to celebrate the season at the Happiest... or perhaps the spookiest... Place on Earth!
Happy hauntings!
