Trip Nov 14-23 with kids ages 13, 11,10,9,8 & 6. Haven't let kids wander alone before. Have any MOMS done this? Comfortable now with cell phones? Is 13 a good age to take other kids around park? Maybe just the oldest 3 or 4 kids. Very nerve wracking!

Hello Anthony!  Wow!  This question hit very close to home.  Last summer was the very first time that I allowed my 14 year old to separate himself from the family.  He also had a friend with him which made me feel somewhat better.  There were four very important rules that I did place on him.  First, he was not allowed to leave the park that we were at to go to another park.  Second, he was to call us every hour to let us know how everything was going.  Third, he had to meet up with us for lunch and dinner, no exceptions. Last, when we were ready to go, they had to follow. Yes, I agree, this weighed very heavily on my husband and I.  After the first two days, we were much more calm and did not worry so much.  Of course, you know your children best and you know what you can expect for them.  Thank you for allowing me to share my experience with this matter and I hope you find a comfortable decision for your own children.  Have a wonderful and magical day!
