Hiya Allison - it's so great to see you back here at
planDisney!
Thanks for coming to us with your question about
MagicBands! Before diving into that, I just want to say how excited I am for your stay at the
Walt Disney World Swan Hotel. It's a fantastic location with easy access to
EPCOT,
Disney's Hollywood Studios,
Disney's BoardWalk, and you can even walk to the
Skyliner station and soar over to other Resort hotels for even more fun!
Using MagicBands as a form of payment is currently only available to Guests staying at select Disney Resorts Collection hotels, and the Walt Disney World Swan Hotel is not included. So, at least for this trip, you won't be able to charge purchases to a credit card by using your MagicBand.
I do have some good news though! Many point-of-sale systems at Walt Disney World Resort support popular contactless payment methods, so if you haven't explored that functionality on your smartphone device, you might consider setting it up! On my last trip, even though I had a MagicBand linked to my Disney Resorts Collection hotel account, I found myself using the contactless pay option on my phone more often. Now, I use it quite a bit in my everyday life too! Combining that with Disney's
new MagicMobile service, which allows your compatible smartphone or smartwatch to mimic many MagicBand features, I might even try a trip without a MagicBand in the near future!
One other quick tip - if you use
Mobile Food and Beverage Ordering within the
My Disney Experience Mobile App, you can link any credit card you would like and pay directly through the app, or use other popular convenient payment methods such as Apple Pay!
I hope this information helps. Have a great trip and
let us know if any other questions pop up as you continue planning for your magical adventure!
