1st trip in may with 2 boys 3&6, will have 1 day@ epcot & 2days @MK(with nap breaks). We have 1 more evening to fill, need help deciding if its better to have a 3rd evening @ MK (a kid favorite)or a 2nd evening @EP for Illuminations? Thanks!!

    Hi Marcia,

So excited for you and your family! The 1st trip to WDW is always amazing!

Honestly, I'd do a 3rd evening at MK. You can never go wrong taking kids that age to MK - I think my boys would go every day of their lives because there are so many incredible things for them to do at MK. Wishes continues to be my family's favorite of all the night time entertainment.

IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth is amazing.  I love all the behind the scene things so I know how much work goes into the show and it is incredible. However, my little guys get a little board with it (sorry Disney but they do).  They love the fireworks parts but when the Earth Globe portion begins, they lose interest until it opens up and shoots flames every where.  It is a very popular show and you may love it but if you're planning this trip to be all about your kids, go back to MK.

If you do decide to go to IllumiNations, pick a spot that gives an unobstructed view of the center of the lagoon.  I like to watch it near the Rose & Crown Pub in the United Kingdom Pavillion.  Just like any of the night time displays, people start scouting out their viewing spots early. Watch for the direction of the wind and pick a spot opposite from that direction because that is where all the smoke will head from the fireworks.

Please let us know if you need further suggestions.  We love sprinkling pixie dusts on trips!
