1st trip in March w/ 3 girls (2, 4 & 6). Do you think having 2 TS meals a day (esp L&D) would be too restricting & take too much time out of park time – or a nice break? How long would a buffet TS dinner take (like CrystPal or Biergarten) vs a

    Hi Valerie!

I personally wouldn't book a table service lunch and a table service dinner in the same day. One reason is because it can take a huge chunk of time out of your day. Once you factor in that it's suggested you arrive about 15 minutes prior to your ADR, the actual time spent waiting for a table and the time it takes to finish your meal, you could very easily be spending close to two hours per meal. The second reason I won't usually do a sit down lunch and dinner is because the portions are typically huge and I just wouldn't be able to eat so much food so close together.

That being said, I frequently made ADRs for two table service meals a day - breakfast and dinner. We're early risers on vacation and I'll try to book a character meal in the park before it opens. This way we have a nice early breakfast and are finishing up just about the time the park opens for the day. For lunch we'll usually get a light snack or share a counter service meal (again, large portions!). By dinner time we're usually ready to sit, relax and enjoy another table service meal.

Table service meals can be a nice break from the heat and all the walking that you'll be doing, but you don't want to feel like you're spending all of your time getting to a reservation and waiting for food. Buffets are a great choice with children your girls' ages. You can get in and start eating right away. If the kids start to get restless you can end the meal whenever you like and not be at the mercy of how fast the food comes out of the kitchen.

I hope this helps! Have fun planning your vacation!
