Hi! Our trip for Magic Kingdom is booked on November 17th! We were really excited to see the nighttime fireworks. But I saw that the Christmas Party is scheduled that night. I won't be purchasing additional tickets, does that mean no fireworks for us?

Hello and welcome to planDisney, Elizabeth. Thanks for stopping by with your question.

I see you have a trip to the Most Magical Place On Earth planned for mid-November. That's an excellent time of year to visit. The temperatures during the day are just perfect and the theme parks are all decked out in their holiday best. It's so festive and fun - plus it makes for great pictures! You are going to love it, Elizabeth.

I did go ahead and take a look at the calendar and I can see where there is, indeed, a Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party on the night you plan on being at Magic Kingdom Park. This special ticketed event starts at 7:00 p.m. and lasts throughout the evening. On party nights, the new 50th anniversary fireworks, Disney Enchantment, will not be shown. Instead, a holiday-themed firework show will take place later in the night for partygoers.

If you'd like to enjoy fireworks that night, Elizabeth, I have an idea for you. I would suggest upgrading your theme park ticket to include the park hopper option. Park hopping is where you can visit multiple Walt Disney World Theme Parks in one day. It's going to be a little bit of an upcharge but you are going to be able to get a whole day out of this ticket versus only being able to visit one theme park that is closing early that night. On the day of, I would enjoy all that Magic Kingdom Park has to offer. Then, at 2:00 p.m. when park hopping is allowed, you can make your way to a different theme park if you'd like or stay at Magic Kingdom Park as late as you'd like. But, in the evening hours, I would make your way over to EPCOT for their firework show instead. It's actually my favorite out of the two and I think you'll really enjoy it. This way, you can still spend the day at the iconic Magic Kingdom Park but then you'll also be able to enjoy a firework display to end your evening. It's the best of both worlds!

I hope this helps you sort out your itinerary, Elizabeth. If you have any other questions, please feel free to stop back by and ask me. I'm here to help.

    Have fun!

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
