1st trip, last minute 3/30-4/5 (oppty came up with relative there for wrk) and on budget. Potentials so far Caribbean Resort thru Disney online; or Swan & Dolphin Resort or thru Costco comes w/ car for same price; or ??? for 2A 2K (5 daughter 8 son)

Hi Christina!  As a fellow Costco member and a devout Disney fanatic, I do share your dilemma.  I have done vacations using both Disney reservations online as well as Costco travel discounts.  The Swan and Dolphin Resorts are very beautiful and have the benefit of being located on Disney property.  They also take part in Extra Magic Hours and have complimentary transportation to the Disney Parks.  Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort is Disney's largest moderate resort and is now home to both Finding Nemo themed rooms as well as the pirate themed rooms.  The pool at Old Port Royals is absolutely gorgeous and I'm sure your kids would enjoy the pool slide available.

If you desire to travel off property for meals or to visit other attractions in the Orlando area, then I would opt for the Costco trip.  Car rental rates for 2012 are astronomically high compared to last year, and discounts seem to be few and far between.  So if the Costco option includes the car, then it might be better suited for you. If being immersed in the whole Disney experience, from beginning to end, then I would opt for Caribbean Beach.  There is something to be said about the Disney difference. Cast Members go out of their way to accommodate you as best as possible, and transportation to and from theme parks, water parks and Downtown Disney can't be beat.  You will be able to charge packages and dining experiences to your room card, as well as benefit from Disney's Magical Express, which is free transport to and from the airport on the day you arrive and the day you leave.

Yes, it is a tough decision, but I'm hoping that you will be able to choose the one that suits you and your family best.

Hope this helps you plan your magical vacation!

Hi there! The Disney Parks have been a part of my life since I was a little girl. Introducing my children, husband, and family to all the magic that Walt Disney World can offer has led to countless moments with Mickey and Friends, Disney Vacation Club membership and fun on the high seas with Disney Cruise Lines! Our vacations are usually centered around a visit to the Most Magical Place on Earth, and I am super excited to help you plan and create magical moments for you and your families!
