Our trip is getting closer! (12/5) 1st visit in 16 yrs (this time with our kids, 7 and 5 ) What types of things should I be thinking about at this point in prep for our Dec. visit? ADR's/MVMCP tickets all set. Too early for Photo Pass, right? Tks!

    Hi Kristine,

I am sure you are all so excited and counting the days until your Disney vacation. This is always the hardest part of any of our Disney vacations. All the planning is finished, the reservations made, but not quite soon enough to pack and make final arrangements.

I like to spend this time fine tuning our plans and doing last minute planning. Write out each day's events on an index card including the park for the day, a tentative schedule of attractions to visit, any parade or show times you want to visit and dining reservation numbers. I then take these cards and laminate them and place them on a binder ring for easy access.

We often like to make a countdown calendar to add some fun to our wait. We mark a few days each week with things like watch a Disney movie, or play a Disney board game. We have spent this time making tie-dye Mickey shirts and starting to organize our packing. With younger kids, I also use this time to stock-pile little treats and items from the dollar store or department store. These items are great to surprise them with on the plane or in the resort room. Perhaps the kids would like to make their own autograph books. You can find some great examples by googling Disney autograph books on the internet. This is a great time to try and save up a little mad money for the trip or organize your Disney spending money. A great idea is to mark an envelope for each day or your stay and place your spending money in the envelopes equally. This way you can keep track of what you are able to send each day.

Approximately two weeks before your trip, be sure to call and confirm all dining reservations and any other special events or tours you may have planned. Keep a look out for your Magical Express booklet if you are using this service and don't forget you can use online check-in ten days before your arrival if you would like.

Hang in there, it will be here before you know it.
