This is our 4th trip, but our first time going for Thanksgiving. Are there any special things that Disney does for Thanksgiving? Special restaurants we should book ~ or anything special that we should ask for?

Hi Jennifer! It is never too early to start planning that Disney vacation and Thanksgiving is a favorite time for our family to visit as well.

Generally life goes on as normal in the parks and through-out the property on Thanksgiving day.  If you want a traditional turkey feast you will have to make sure you get your reservations 90 days out from your time of arrival as the restaurants that offer this book up quickly. Have the dining reservation number handy: 407-WDW-DINE (407-939-3463)

Since there is not a guarantee about which restaurants will have a traditional meal it is best to check with the cast members when you call for your reservations.  In the past my family has enjoyed Thanksgiving at Artists Point in the Wilderness Lodge as well as the Yacht and Beach Club Yachtsman Steakhouse.  Just remember.....it is important to ask as not all will offer this and you don't want to be disappointed.

For a fun Thanksgiving meal if you happen to be in the Magic Kingdom you might want to reserve a dinner at Liberty Tree Tavern.  They serve up a very tasty all you can eat feast daily that includes turkey and dressing and all the sides as well as pork and flank steak.  It is no longer a character dining experience but it is still one of my favorite restaurants for its atmosphere and food!

Have a wonderful holiday...you will even get a jump start on Christmas as the decorations will all start to pop up everywhere making it even more fun and exciting!
