1st trip to Disney world with our 13 yr old, who is on the autism spectrum & has food issues (mac&cheese is our best friend!). How accommodating are the restaurants in letting overage kids order from the kids menu?

    Hi Robin,

I'm super excited to hEAR about your family's first visit to the place where The Magic is Endless!

You don't happen to mention if you'll be using any of the Disney Dining Plans. Supposing you'll be paying for meals out-of-pocket using cash, debit card, credit card, etc., there is a great deal of flexibility and even adults can easily order entrées off the Kids' Menus. That being said, it's important to note the following. When visiting Disney Character Dining locations, buffets, or other comparable prix fixe meal restaurants, anyone in your party that is 10 years of age and up will be charged the adult price.

If you will be using Disney Dining Plan credits to pay for meals, you'll find that most restaurant servers will opt to place the order for larger portions of kid friendly entrées – for Guests 10 and older. And that of course includes Mac & Cheese too! Please read more about this scenario HERE.

Did You Know? The Walt Disney World Resort offers many Services for Guests with Cognitive Disabilities. To learn more about this topic please read HERE.

I hope you found this information useful, Robin. Please come back to visit us again soon. We'll be happy to sprinkle a little pixie dust on your all your Disney vacation plans.
