Hello! 5th trip to Disney! I'll be running the 5K, 10K and Princess Half in Feb 2015. Can you give me ANY tips? Should I bring food with me to eat in my room before each of the races? ANY info would help in regards to the race. Thanks :)

    Welcome, Kim!

Working out race morning logistics can be overwhelming! Here are some tips to help make your experience magical:

    • I recommend having food items in your room with you for race morning. Having your banana, bagel, or energy bar at the ready will assist in making sure you start off on the right foot.
    • Get to the Start Zone early, especially for the half marathon! If you are taking Event Transportation, I suggest trying to board the bus by 3:30am. I was late catching the bus from Disney's BoardWalk Resort for the 2013 Disney Princess Half Marathon, and pretty much had to run to make it into my corral! You do not want to be anxious while sitting on the bus. And getting there early is fun! There will be a DJ and photo opportunities.
    • Speaking of corrals for the half marathon, you're going to have a 15 minute walk from the Start Zone Area to the corrals at the starting line, so when the DJ advises you to begin heading over - Go!
    • The 5K & 10K will have approximately 10,000 runners, so the urgency to arrive early is less. However, there will still be bag check at all three races, so factor that into your timing.
    • Be sure to refuel within 30mins of completing your events. Your body will need to recover quickly with running all three races.
    • While attending the runDisney Health & Fitness Expo, be sure to stop by the MarathonFoto vendor booth for a map of photographer locations. And for great on-course photos, run along the sides of the course and not right down the middle. This will also make it easier to get to any character photos you want along the way.

I hope these tips are helpful, Kim! Please let me know if you think of any additional questions as you continue planning for an enchanted weekend.

    Have a magical race!
