Trip 3/3 - 3/8. Just discovered the ESPN weekend 3/3 - 3/6. How will that affect crowds in the parks? Staying at POFQ. Planned this hoping for less crowds - now concerned it will be very crowded. Thanks!

    Hi Jennifer,

ESPN weekend is an exciting event for sports fans that takes place during the spring at Walt Disney World.  The weekend will be filled with appearances by top athletes, ESPN personalities, ESPN telecasts, celebrity game shows, and more fun events.

Although there will be several guests who traveling to Walt Disney World specifically for this event, I don't think it will significantly increase park attendance levels too much.  Most of the events take place either at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex or at Hollywood Studios.  If anything, you may want to save your visit to Hollywood Studios for the end of your trip.  Otherwise, I think you'll find that crowd levels should be okay.

Hope this helps.  Have a magical vacation!

After spending 25 years in RI, my husband and I relocated to GA with our youngest, who is now in high school. I took my first trip to Walt Disney World when I was 11 and I have traveled many times since then with all different party sizes. From creating our first itinerary as a honeymooner to later creating magical experiences for our multigenerational family gatherings, every aspect of planning a vacation has been pure joy to me.  Learn More About Diane
