1st trip in dec. Planning to do mickey's christmas party...can we do MK all day and stay for the party or does the park close and we come back? Suggestions on where to have dinner the night of the party? Can't wait for our trip..feeling a bit overwhelmed

    Hi Kimberly,

Thanks so much for visiting us on the Moms Panel! A holiday vacation at Walt Disney World is a magical event that you and your family will never forget. If you plan to attend Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party, you are more than welcome to stay in the park all day until the beginning of the special event. Magic Kingdom Park doesn't have a hard close for the party, so Guests without tickets are receive a goodnight wish from Cast Members, while party Guests are invited to stay. I do suggest going to the first of the park to attain your wristbands once the party starts.

I suggest booking an Advanced Dining Reservation for a restaurant within one of the Magic Kingdom Resort Hotels. This will give you a break from the park, without having to travel far away. Disney's Grand Floridian, Polynesian Resort and Contemporary Resort all have amazing restaurants for dinner. Our family loves California Grill for an upscale dinner and Chef Mickey's for a fun family dinner. If you'd like a taste of the South Pacific, try 'Ohana. Fun atmosphere for parents and kids alike, and the food is delicious!

I hope this helps you with your vacation planning, Kimberly. If you have any other questions, please feel free to ask us anytime. We're always here to help.

    Have a fantastical Disney day!
