Well, hello there, Bailey! Thanks for reaching out again about your upcoming visit.
Some
merchandise locations around the resort can ship your items back to your home for a fee. You may also be able to
ship items to your home directly from your
Disney Resorts Collection Hotel. However, at this time, the ability to send items you have purchased from the parks to your hotel is not available. You'll want to follow along with the
Disney Parks Blog to see if this service returns in time for your September visit.
While you cannot currently send items back to your resort hotel from the parks, there are a few tricks that I use to keep me from having to lug items around with me throughout the day. Here we go:
- While the common advice for souvenirs is that if you see it, you should buy it, if it looks like there is a lot of stock of the item you are buying and it's not a limited edition, consider purchasing it toward the end of your park day. This way, you only have to worry about carrying it directly to your room. Just note that there are never any guarantees an item will be in stock when you want it later, so if it will really bum you out if it's out of stock when you come back, I wouldn't go this route.
- Pay to have it shipped home (if available at the location at which you're shopping). This way, you not only have to worry about carrying it around with you all day, but you also won't have to worry about finding space for it in your luggage.
- Rent a locker to store your items. Each theme park has locker rental options that you can use for the day. They are usually toward the front of the park.
- At the beginning of your vacation, consider traveling over to Disney Springs and shopping at the World of Disney. While this giant store doesn't have every souvenir sold at the resort, it certainly has a lot. You may be able to find most of what you'd like to buy, can purchase it right then and there, and bring it directly back to your hotel.
- Check to see if the item you are purchasing is available at the Disney Store. If it is, snag it there and have it shipped home!
While shopping, be sure to check and see if the location at which you're shopping offers
Merchandise Mobile Checkout.
To use this service, open up your
My Disney Experience mobile app, click the plus sign (+) in the center of the bottom menu, select "Merchandise Mobile Checkout," and select the location at which you're shopping. You can then use your phone to scan your items and pay. Afterward, when you're ready to leave the store, show your code to the Cast Member, and they will give you a bag (or wrap your item if needed), and you'll be all set to go! Just note that you will not be able to ship your items with this service, but if you aren't doing so for that particular purchase, it certainly beats waiting in lines to checkout!
Bailey, happy shopping! If you have any other questions,
I'm more than happy to answer them.
Do whatever it takes to seize your moment,
Matt
