Welcome to planDisney, Sholanda!
Art is the heartbeat of
Walt Disney World Resort, woven into every detail, from the immersive landscapes to the tiniest design elements. Walt Disney himself believed in the power of storytelling through art, and that vision lives on in the hand-painted murals, intricate sculptures, and breathtaking architecture found throughout the parks. Every attraction, parade, and resort is a masterpiece of creativity, blending animation, music, and design to bring dreams to life. Whether it’s the plethora of colors in Cinderella Castle’s mosaics or the cutting-edge digital artistry in attractions like
Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway, art isn’t just part of Disney—it’s the foundation of the magic.
Walt would be so glad to have a young artist visit his park. Although art rubbing isn't officially promoted as an activity, there are plenty of textured surfaces throughout the parks that could make for fun and unique rubbings—if done respectfully and without disrupting Guest flow. Some surfaces might be off-limits or tricky to access, so it’s always good to be mindful of your surroundings and avoid rubbing on fragile or protected areas. If in doubt, you can always ask a nearby Cast Member on the day.
Here are a few fun ideas for your daughter to try: She can capture the decorative pavement designs around
EPCOT or the intricate mosaics inside
Cinderella Castle. Many attraction signs, dedication plaques, and queue elements feature raised details that make for unique rubbings. She might also enjoy discovering textured carvings in Adventureland, Animal Kingdom, or along the queues of attractions like
Expedition Everest and
The Haunted Mansion. There's so much hidden artistry to explore!
I hope that's helpful, Sholanda. Have a wonderful time at the place where "laughter is timeless, imagination has no age, and dreams are forever."
