Hello! Our trip is coming up very soon. We are going to mvmp twice and during the 1st mvmcp we are doing the dessert party & the 2nd we are doing pirates&pals voyage. Is the dessert party a must do bc i don't want to miss too much of the party if i

    Hi Megan ~

Sounds like you're planning some action packed evenings. There are so many wonderful special experiences during Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party (MVMCP). I typically recommend that people concentrate on those special experiences only offered during MVMCP but since you are attending on 2 different evenings, one may work out for you.

The Tomorrowland Terrace Fireworks Dessert Party begins one hour prior to the fireworks. Holiday Wishes - Celebrate the Spirit of the Season is at 9:30 p.m. during MVMCP. Celebrate the Magic is at 9:15 p.m. Attending the Tomorrowland Terrace Fireworks Dessert Party would give you an excellent view of both. You'd also be able to enjoy some fabulous desserts while you wait instead of being in a sea of other Guests.

The Pirates and Pals Fireworks Voyage is great fun. It also offers an amazing view of Holiday Wishes. However, you are going to miss more of MVMCP. It begins 1 hour and 15 minutes prior to the fireworks and you'll need to travel from Magic Kingdom to the Contemporary. Its not far but it takes time. Once the fireworks are over, your boat travels back to the Contemporary where you meet a special guest. Then you'll need to get back to the Magic Kingdom. You'll have to go back through security again as well.

The Tomorrowland Terrace Fireworks Dessert Party and Pirates and Pals are both usually offered throughout the year. In my opinion, Pirates and Pals is a more fun overall experience but you'll miss less of MVMCP by choosing the Dessert Party. If your heart is set on doing Pirates and Pals, I'd skip the Dessert Party. I'd rather spend the time seeing rare characters in the parks or the special entertainment that is only offered during MVMCP.
