With my trip coming up on Sept 4th and Disney wanting guests to not use cash, do I have to use a credit/debit card for everything or can I use a Disney gift card? I want to put my food money on a gift card if possible.

    Welcome back to planDisney, Melissa!

You must be SO very excited for your upcoming visit to Walt Disney World--less than a month to go! Woo hoo!

As Walt Disney World has continued its phased reopening of the parks, resorts, and Disney Springs, updates about Returning to a World of Magic have been oh so helpful. That post features a section entitled Reduced Contact which includes the recommendation that "all Guests use cashless payment options, including debit cards, credit cards and Disney Gift Cards. Guests can also opt for contactless payment options--such as mobile wallets--or use cash to purchase a Disney Gift Card at Guest Relations and select merchandise locations."

I see from your earlier question that you will be enjoying a stay at Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort, so this means that you can also use your MagicBand to charge purchases to your Walt Disney World Resort hotel room account, then apply those Disney Gift Cards as payment against those charges. This is especially helpful if you enjoy the ease of touring The Most Magical Place on Earth using just your MagicBand as your room key, theme park ticket, access to Disney's PhotoPass Service images, charges, and so much more!

Whichever method works best for you, Melissa, you'll be able to enjoy so many scrumptious items that Walt Disney World does best. From the iconic snack of a Nestle Mickey Premium Bar to an unforgettably fun meal at Beaches & Cream Soda Shop, or the perfect Table Service meal at a location such as Be Our Guest Restaurant, dining your way throughout The World is sure to become a favorite pastime. I know it's one of mine!

As you plan your perfectly pixie-dusted stay, be sure to send more questions our way. we love to help!
