Hi we have a trip coming up in November and just found out about the genie pass. My husband is a disabled vet and we have a child. Do we have to pay for child swap or being disabled? How would I go about signing up for these amenities?

Hey there, Brooke! Welcome to planDisney and thank you for stopping by to see us!

I’m so glad to hear that you’ll be visiting Walt Disney World in November! The twinkling lights, the scent of apple pie spice... I can picture it now! You’re in for an amazing holiday adventure.

When it comes to Disability Access Services (DAS) and Rider Switch, those services are both complimentary! To register for DAS and obtain a card, simply present as a group to Guest Services on your first entry into the Theme Parks. With this DAS card, you will likely not need to utilize Rider Switch since you will be given a time to return to the attraction to limit your wait in line, and up to 5 people can utilize this service when accompanying the eligible Guest! Funny that you mention Disney Genie Service, as one of the recent announcements along with the information regarding the service, coming later this fall, is that registering for DAS will actually be possible via the My Disney Experience Mobile App! Both registration methods will be available to Guests, however. Make sure you update your app to the latest version and keep your eyes and EARs peeled for further details on the Disney Genie Service and its new features later this fall!

Brooke, please thank your husband for his service, and know that you can return to see us again anytime you would like our assistance with planning your next Disney vacation! It would be a pleasure to see you again.

    Wishing you many magical memories,
    Clara
