Hi, I have a trip coming up this next week and we've been keeping an eye on the weather. Can you please tell me if the park and rides have still been open? The forecast looks like there will be similar weather this coming week.

    Hi Mackenzie! Welcome to planDisney.

Oh Boy! You can count the days on one hand until you arrive at The World's Most Magical Celebration. This party is 50 yEARS in the making and features specialty-themed treats found in the 50th Anniversary Celebration Sips and Bites Guide. At Disney's Hollywood Studios, stop by the Backlot Express for the Glimmer and Shimmer Blondie.

Let's talk about the Florida weather in the summer. First, with the heat and humidity, no matter the forecast, I always advise friends and family to their choice of rain gear including, ponchos, raincoats, or umbrellas. Protip, if packing an umbrella at security take it out of your bag and hold it in front of you through the metal detector. Frankly, you should expect a few pop-up showers and you may even welcome them. Baring the rare hurricane, the theme parks will remain open. You may experience temporary shutdowns of outside attractions during storms like Slinky Dog Dash or Splash Mountain. During those storms, I particularly like to take in indoor shows like Walt Disney's Carousel of Progress or For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration. So Hakuna Matata! There is always a way to plan and work around a Florida storm.

During your visit, stop by the EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival. Grab yourself a fresh culinary delight from an outdoor kitchen to enjoy while admiring the beautiful flower displays and living topiaries. Close out your park day with the all-new nighttime spectacular, Harmonious. This show combines multilingual Disney classic tunes, dancing water, and fireworks.

    Keeping it Magical,
    Cindy
