Hiya Raquel - welcome to
planDisney!
Thanks so much for stopping by with your question for our team of panelists. We love to help Guests just like you plan your very own, very magical, Walt Disney World Resort vacations!
Walt Disney World Resort is a place where
everyone can make magical memories, and the
Disability Access Service (DAS) is one way that Disney helps Guests have an improved experience. Guests located within the United States can pre-register for DAS online up to 30 days prior to (but no fewer than two days before) their visit. You'll have a virtual chat with a DAS Cast Member, and if eligible, will be able to make up to two DAS Advance selections per day of your trip. These selections provide you with a one-hour return window to experience an attraction!
Once you are inside of a Theme Park, you'll be able to pick an attraction or experience you'd like to enjoy, and will receive a return time (usually similar to the current wait time for the standby queue). At the return time, you'll enter the attraction through the Lightning Lane queue! The best part is that you can wait for your return time wherever is most comfortable for the DAS Guest, instead of waiting in the regular queue.
Each Guest registered with DAS has the ability to include up to five additional Guests when making a DAS Advance selection or selecting a return time for an attraction. Importantly, each Guest can only have one active DAS return time at a time. When you register, you'll be asked who from your Family & Friends list the DAS Guest will be traveling with. On a recent trip, we had one Guest with DAS and seven others in our party. All of us were included in the DAS party, but when making our return time selections in the
My Disney Experience Mobile App, you have to choose which five additional Guests will accompany the DAS Guest on the attraction. This allows you to select different additional Guests to join the DAS Guest on different attractions.
With two DAS Guests in your party, you will be able to secure return times for up to a total of 12 Guests (2 DAS Guests + 5 additional Guests each). As a party of 15, this does mean that a few folks will need to sit out or use an alternative method to experience an attraction (e.g., standby queue, Genie+ Lightning Lane selection, or Individual Lightning Lane purchase for select attractions). For example, let's say your entire crew wanted to experience Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance at Disney's Hollywood Studios, which currently offers Individual Lightning Lane purchases. You could have three Guests in your party purchase
Individual Lightning Lane access for a specific time, and then have both DAS Guests select a return time that falls within the same time window for themselves and the other 10 additional Guests. In that situation, all 15 of you can ride together! You can always stop and ask a friendly Cast Member for help strategizing if your goal is to have everyone on as many attractions together as possible.
Enjoy your visit during the
holiday season! You'll have all of those festivities plus the
Walt Disney World 50th Anniversary Celebration to look forward to - it's going to be magical! I hope I've helped answer your question, and feel free to
stop by again with more!
