Our trip is at BWV stay from 9/28/13 -10/5/13. My son is disappointed that the resort is not on the testing for Magic Bands. My question: Is it possible to do a split stay? Stay at BCV from 9/28/13-10/1 and then go to BWV from 10/1- 10/5? Will this work?

    Hi Tina Marie,

You are talking about two Walt Disney World resorts that I positively love. Disney's BoardWalk Villas is my home resort, and I also really enjoy a stay at Disney's Beach Club Villas. Both resorts are in walking distance of Epcot and Disney's Hollywood Studios, and I love the variety of activity and dining options around Crescent Lake.

You can do a split stay between two Disney Vacation Club Resorts. I do have a couple of thoughts for you considering why you want to do this. Magic Bands are being rolled out and tested this year; however, as this is still a testing phase, there is no guarantee that you will be chosen for Magic Band testing. I would hate for you to switch resorts only for the Magic Bands to find that, because this is still in testing, you are not able to get Magic Bands. Also, on the dates that you are going, the Epcot International Food and Wine Festival (yum!) will have started. During this festival, Disney's Beach Club Villas tend to be very booked up due to their quick walking distance to Epcot for the festival.

If you decide that you want to do this, and you are a Disney Vacation Club Member, I suggest that you call Disney Vacation Club Member Services at 1-800-800-9800 as soon as possible. There may be a difference in the amount of points that each reservation would require, and the cast member there will be able to talk you through how a holding account works if you need to place some points there since you are within 30 days of check in. If you paid with a traditional payment method, such as a credit card, contact Disney directly at 407-W-DISNEY (934-7639) and they can help you with you changes.

I do not mean to discourage you, Tina Marie, but I did want to give you some thoughts on how this might work out. You never know when a little pixie dust might be sprinkled on your vacation! Have a great time planning your vacation, and please do not hesitate to ask if you have any further questions.
