Trip 9/11-9/20. Have ADR for CP, CM, GG, H&V(Fant), TRex and Coral Reef. VERY picky eaters except DH. ?Cancel CR and add Hoop De Doo? DS 2 and 4. Can we eat at Liberty Tree/Whispering Canyon w/out resv. Do we need plans for every day?

    Hi Jeanette,

Welcome to the Moms Panel!  Your vacation plans look a lot like something I would schedule for my own family.  I too like to travel in September (with my picky eaters), so I know where you are coming from.

Personally, I think I would keep your plans as is for now.  The Hoop De Doo is a fun family event, but it might make more sense to hold off on this one until the kids are a little older.  It is a dinner show that takes a bit longer, and is relatively expensive.  The food is "family style" which means you're given a cast iron bucket of ribs and chicken or your family to share.

Liberty Tree Tavern and Whispering Canyon Cafe are great alternatives, but if I were you I would hold off on the reservation for now.  I have found that the kids can be unpredictable at this age (as could my mood or cravings) so I don't like to over-schedule meals.  We have always had good luck calling the dining line (or stopping by guest services at the parks/resorts) during our vacation.  If there is availability and it fits in our current plan, great!  If not, there are PLENTY of counter service options for us to dine at.  Unless it is a must-do on your list, I'd leave your schedule as flexible as possible.

So the short answer in my opinion is no, you do not need plans for every day.  I actually prefer the days when we have no plans because it is nice not having to be somewhere specific.  We tend to follow the kids' lead, and often times a dip in the pool trumps a sit down meal!

    Hope this helps!
