I tried to verify my Florida Address online but it could not be verified. Why?

Greetings Wayne, and welcome to planDisney!

Thanks for stopping by to inquire about Florida residency verification. My parents are part-time residents of the Sunshine State, and they love to take advantage of special ticket and resort discounts exclusively offered to Mickey Mouse's closest neighbors.

I'm sorry you're having trouble with the online verification process. When buying Florida resident theme park tickets on the Walt Disney World website, during the check-out process, you'll need to fill out a form called "Your Florida Resident Information." On the My Disney Experience mobile app, look for the "Customize Your Tickets" option before finalizing your purchase. You need a valid Florida driver's license, a valid Florida state-issued ID, or a valid Florida-based military ID for online verification. If your ID is expired or will expire before the start of a date-based ticket, you will not be able to complete the online verification process. If you finalize your ticket purchase before verifying your residency, you must confirm your Florida address in person at Walt Disney World.

If you continue to experience problems or realize you secured your tickets before verifying residency, hakuna matata, Wayne! It's easy to accomplish this once your vacation begins. My parents can't prove their residency online since they don't have state-issued IDs. Instead, they activate Florida resident tickets by presenting alternative documents at a theme park ticket window, Guest Relations, or the Disney Ticket Center at Disney Springs. It never takes more than a few minutes, and we usually combine it with another activity, like dinner at Disney Springs the night before our first theme park day. Chef Art Smith's Homecomin' and D-Luxe Burger are two of our favorite places to eat near the Disney Ticket Center. If we're staying near the Walt Disney World Monorail route, we stop by the Transportation and Ticket Center in the late afternoon or early evening when lines tend to be short here.

I hope this has been helpful, Wayne. Good luck with your tickets, and if there's anything else we at planDisney can do as you prepare for your next Walt Disney World adventure, come see us again. We're all ears!

    Have a magical day,
    Betsy
