I tried to make ress for Nov. 2012 @ Cont. I called @ 499 days & was told that nothing was avail in the Gar Wing. They said that Disney blocks these off for possible conventions, but rooms may open up. Is this true? Is it worth it to keep trying back?

Hi Jennifer:

The Contemporary Resort is one of the original Walt Disney World Resorts. I still remember the wonder I felt as a six-year old staying at the Contemporary Resort and watching the monorail run right through the A-frame Tower and marveling at the lobby's 90-foot, floor-to-ceiling ceramic mural created by Disney Legend, Mary Blair. Located next to the central A-frame main Tower, there is a Garden Wing with only about 250 rooms, so it's not surprising these rooms are difficult to secure. The Contemporary attracts a number of conventions, so it's possible those Room are booked or are being held for a convention. However, cancellations and room releases happen. I can't guarantee it will happen based on your availability, however, I highly recommend trying back to check.
