    I tried to purchase genie+ for today and it gave an error message- you must be in the United States or Canada to use this service. I’m currently in Orlando and it’s after midnight. How can I purchase?

    Good morning, Tricia, and welcome to planDisney! Actually, I should say, "Welcome home!" You've arrived at Walt Disney World Resort, so get ready to enjoy the magic. I'm sorry you're having a technical glitch, so let's look at ways to help you purchase Disney Genie+ service.

    If you have a valid theme park ticket and reservation, if needed, you should be able to purchase Disney Genie+ service after midnight. You can review the ticket types that require reservations, and if everything is in order, let's look at some technical steps to try.

    My first suggestion is to make sure you're connected to WiFi and check to see that your settings are for the United States. In the My Disney Experience mobile app, select "Profile" from the Welcome screen. Next, tap "Account Settings" and log in. Choose "More security settings" to be taken to the site in your browser, and select "English (United States)" from the dropdown menu for country settings.

    Some other ways to troubleshoot are to log out and back into your account by tapping "Sign Out" at the bottom of the Welcome page. You can also double-check that your app's location services are turned on in your phone settings.

    It's also vital that your My Disney Experience app is up to date. I had a friend who couldn't purchase Disney Genie+ service because she had an older version of the app. She was good to go once she updated it while we enjoyed lunch at The Plaza Restaurant in Magic Kingdom Park. Talk about multi-tasking!

When I'm inside a theme park, I like to stop by the Guest Experiences Team umbrellas for help. Those Cast Members are like Fairy Godmothers! They will work tirelessly to solve any problem.
