It's great to see you here today at the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Lesley!
You and I are in the same boat because I also have a trip coming up at the beginning of December and I've been trying to score some of those new,
upgraded MagicBands that are available to
Walt Disney World Resort Hotel guests. It's been a little bit hit or miss for me too but I have successfully ordered upgraded
MagicBands for previous trips this year and I'm happy to share some tips and tricks with you.
I have had the most luck when I've started by clearing my browsing data, which can usually be done from your internet browser's settings menu. With a clean slate, I'm usually able to access the page without getting the "Access Unavailable" error and a picture of an angry Donald Duck, which I think you might be familiar with. I have found the best selections available early in the day when I've been booking a
FastPass+ or
advanced dining reservation, so maybe check first thing in the morning if you get the chance. A few weeks ago I saw more than 50 selections available at around 7 a.m. Eastern time! It seems that the different designs go in and out of stock in real-time, so it's possible that someone else might check-out and get the MagicBand you're looking for while it's in your cart. My best advice is to keep refreshing, check back as frequently as you're willing to, and be flexible. Since all of your MagicBands have to be ordered at the same time, have everyone traveling with you give you a few options for designs or characters that they'd be happy with so you can maximize the chances of getting what you want.
Good luck, Lesley, and have a magical day!
Jessica
