Shan, as far as I'm aware, you should be able to modify a 3-Day Ticket to add an extra day after your original purchase without canceling any
park reservations. Therefore, I'm not sure why it's only giving you the option to reassign the ticket. Did you purchase your ticket as a standalone ticket or with a resort package? If the former, I don't understand why you're having difficulty modifying your ticket. If the latter, you may need to modify your vacation package. I believe that can be done when clicking on "Daily Itinerary" and then clicking "Modify" next to your resort stay. You should be able to just add an additional theme park day.
If that doesn't work, I would advise you to speak with a Cast Member. You can either do this online through the "Chat" feature or by calling Disney on the phone (407-560-2428). The "Chat" feature is available through the Walt Disney World website (it will pop up if and when a Cast Member is available) or through the
My Disney Experience mobile app.
